The Christian's hope

O that earth's dark night were past,
O that we could see our Saviour at last

O how long shall it be before we see Him?
He who died, our souls to redeem

When shall we enter that glorious city
Wherein dwells no iniquity

How long until we can stand on Zion's hill
With all them that have done Thy will?

Though the times and the seasons I may not know
Help me labour while below

That men may come to know Thy truth
And at least be able to choose

And may Your truth indeed be for my sanctification
That with Thy faithful when Christ comes I may receive glorification

O hasten on glad day,
For your dawning we pray
